American Hard Maple Blocks - "the real deal"
The Beginner D is a very chunky kit assembled on the basis of the Bank St. School Kit (found in the Kits for Schools section). Numerous authors of books on Block Play recommend this school kit, but unfortunately, it is designed for 14 children. By the magic of long division, we've modeled our kit to be a similar assembly designed for one child. If you have more than one child, then buy a couple of these kits. Like a lot of school Kits, it is missing many of the fine detail pieces. Instead, it is assembled of large, simple pieces that lend themselves to the play of children around the age of 5. If you are looking for a kit with lots of big pieces, this is the kit for you.By using our Open Stock pages or our Booster Kit pages it is also possible to extend this kit with Road Planks, Roof Planks, Pawn People and other pieces. Alternately, this can be combined with the Beginner Kit A as this kit goes in the opposite direction, emphasizing smaller and more detail oriented pieces.
